Nightmare after New Year Eve…

New year eve 2006 celebration had been a quiet one picnic-ing at East Coast Park with several of the netballers. Besides the deafening screams erupting at the sight of the freaking praying mantis that decided to land by our premises and the rowdy “drawing competition” we had, yes 2006 new year eve was a quiet one… ending at 12MN with silent red flares lighting up the sky. Ok… they din exactly light up the skies though. Funny how S.O.S signals dun seem very obvious… I mean if you are calling for help shouldn't the signal be like loud, deafening and extremely bright. Like say a set of fireworks that form a shape of S.O.S in the skies. Hmm… I’m derailing here… back on track.
Anyway after getting home that night at 3am plus… I woke up the next morning hoping for a bright new day, new me and newly improved resolutions all set to go. But instead to my horror… *screams* I find myself covered in gruesome looking sand fly bites and they were damn… itchy, red and swollen. And the moment you touch it… it gets itchier and bigger! What a way to start a new year… this like a test my endurance level!

Sample of the bites near my calves...

“The bites are not itchy. The bites are not itchy… Clear your mind… Do not think”

More of these self psycho-ing thing and I will either end up a person with serious self denial problems or a great yoga master…
